Conclusion: Key Points to Enhance your Dream Interpretation

Here are two key points to refine the interpretation of your dream.

Reconnect with the Snake in your Dream

The snake featured in your dream is most likely a transposed image or symbol of something that’s actually happening or preoccupying you in your daily life. It’s important to remember and recall the presence of the snake as it was in the dream.

For example, you can project yourself back in the dream, recall all sorts of details about what the snake looked like, how it was moving, how you were feeling. You could even imagine you can ask the dream snake questions about its intentions, what message it has for you, etc. This will get you started in decoding what the snake in your dream could symbolize.

Snake Dream & Call from the Unconscious

When interpreting a snake dream, a key point is to keep in mind that the serpent in your sleep means you’re symbolically receiving a wake up call from your unconscious.

Dreaming about a snake is usually an indicator that you need to pay attention to something important that you perhaps have been avoiding or that has escaped your awareness until now. Interpreting your dream will help you discover what it is and what you could do to about it.

When you’re dreaming of a snake, you can use your interpretation to encourage positive changes in your life. A snake dream can function like a two-sided coin: For each negative feeling in the dream, such as fear, apprehension, anxiety, or confusion, there’s an opportunity to realize something positive that will serve you in your waking life.

Bonus: Snake Symbols in Popular Myths and Traditions

The symbolism in a snake dream is primarily anchored in the personal life of the dreamer. Because the snake is a powerful symbol in many traditions and cultures, a snake dream can also be influenced by a wider meaning given to the snake or serpent in one’s culture.

In the Judeo-Christian tradition, the snake tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. It is tinted with negative connotations and a symbol for temptation, evil, and sin.

In the Hindu tradition, Lord Siva wears a snake around his neck, as a representation of the control of dark forces and temptation. It also symbolizes the power of kundalini, the life force.

In ancient Greek mythology, Medusa is a Gorgon, represented as a woman with snake hair who can turn into stone whoever she looks at. According to the psycho-analytic perspective, it is a symbol for castration or repressed sexual energy.

Another popular Greek myth is about Aesclepius, Greek god of healing and medicine, who inspired rituals where snakes were used. Today, the rod of Asclepius is what we know as the Caduceus, symbol for modern medicine. In our dreams, it represents the opportunity for healing.

The feathered serpent from the Aztecs of South America is a symbol for the creator of life.

My boyfriend and I have been having a lot going on recently. He was visiting his Ex Girlfriend when he went home and I found out. It was apparently a harmless visit and I believe his word, she wouldn’t tell me if anything happened between them. Anyway, my trust for him is on the edge… I think that is reasonable. Anyway, while we found ourselves in this rough patch, I find out I am pregnant. Another serious test to our relationship. We decide to keep the child but still have so much to figure out and it is obviously scary. He had a dream last night where a woman in white was bringing him a snake to give to me. I am worried as to what that means, as it is clearly very symbolic. I am hoping someone knows. We are both very bothered by it.

    • TwoCents

The woman in white could mean an angel is coming to give you a resolution. She may be the future adoptive mother of your child or a messenger suggesting you figure out how to be the family you just conceived.

Maybe you will have a (boy) baby.

Maybe be cautious of female who are jealous and envious l your pregnancy and there was a woman in white with flowers. Could symbolize another woman wearing white to your wedding and handing you flowers as a gift but really has bad motives.

I dreamed that a black and yellow snake was in my truck on the floor and I noticed that my driver’s side door open was left open. I ran to the passenger side door so it could crawl out that side. It crawled out and went underneath the truck to go back into the truck from the drivers side so I had to run around to close the drivers door so it couldn’t crawl back in.

My dream this morning, 20 minutes ago. I am walking in this beautiful House, full of light and love. I see this snake dropping in so I walk away
From it. It sees me and comes towards me slowly. So I see this and I start running to an open room and as I am closing the door the snake knocks against the door with strength and pushed it open. I scream and start jumping up because the snake got me and then I wake up…….
Can anyone help me understand this dream!

Ok so months have gone by & I’m still trying to interpet the meaning of my dream

I had a dream that I was walking in my neighborhood with my mom & dad’s niece. We came in this lot with this Big tree almost like an oak tree but taller & there were so many butterflies different color & my mom said “look one of them is pink” & the feeling made me feel really happy, but then as I began to walk away my dads niece pointed telling me to look there is something behind you but I never looked it was a snake & I remember just running for my life faster than I have ever ran in my life. And I had the feeling that it was chasing me although I never looked back I ran all the way home. When I got home it followed me into my house & I jumped on the kitchen counter & it was slithering under my couches. My dad came home and I tried to warn him that it was in the house but he was on the phone & went in the room. I then contemplated about picking the snake up by the tail as referred to in the bible that Moses picked a snake up & it turned into a staff, but then I doubted it & didn’t do it.So I ran into my fathers room & asked him for a big knife & he gave me one we were both sitting in the bed. And I was waiting for the snake to come around the corner into the room I was focused lol. It came in & bit my dad on the thigh & began to chop it up & he was sliding out the room as if someone or something was pulling it out.

My dream last night was about seeing someone from my past a previous lover, from about 10 years ago, there had been a bad ending between us. But, when i saw him, he was all good and had his own family. It was a reconciliation it was a studio space, and so i suppose with us both being dancers that was the best environment to cross paths. But, when he left I started noticing a pain in my lower back and for some reason i pulled down my top and looked in the mirror and there was something under my skin popping out through it and it was making my skin burn and all red. Underneath it was a black serpent coiled around from one arm then wrapped around between my shoulders and neck (like a necklace) and then down the other arm and at the end of my arm before my hand was its head and although it freaked me out, it seemed dormant and like it was sleeping. I could literally touch the shape of its head. There was someone else standing with me and they said ‘Oh my god, that’s the black serpent everyone’s been looking for, its been hiding within you. I then went to this room that had all theses board members or something like that around the table with images of this big black snake being seen and then disappearing. I showed them it was under my skin. They werent panicked but instead discussed tactics of removing the snake from within me without killing me!  I mean. DRAMA! WTF! when i woke up i seriously had to check my chest and arms, that’s how real it felt. Some guidance would be appreciated.

I dreamt of a pet snake whom I was afraid to let slither on me but he/she was being very friendly. The snake was black and pink and only a foot long. I am actually very afraid of snakes in real life and do not like snake symbols as I feel they represent evil.. Lately, I have been seeing snakes every where it seems, wether its a tattoo or on a jacket. This dream has really given me a lot to think about since the vibe was so positive.
