Dream Meaning #1: Pay attention to something you’ve been ignoring

Dreaming of being bitten by this wild reptile can be interpreted as a painful reminder that you need to pay attention to a situation or relationship that has been challenging or difficult to deal with in your waking life. A snake biting you in a dream symbolizes your own guidance system or unconscious trying to get your attention through a wake up call.

You’re becoming more aware about an issue or aspect of yourself that you’ve been ignoring. The snake bite has the effect of prompting a reaction on your part, whether it’s pain, surprise or fear. Often, the dreamer will wake up right after the snake bites her in the dream. The attack from the serpent can therefore point to the need to wake yourself up, in your life too, from a situation where you have been compromising too much.

A dream of a snake bite reminds you that you need to resolve or come to terms with a situation or behavior that is paralyzing your ability to make a decision or move forward. Getting bitten by this wild creature is an invitation to examine what is currently “poisonous” in your life and to remedy it.

Dream Meaning #2: Meaning of the body part that is bitten by the snake

The dream interpretation will vary depending on what part of the body is being bitten. Consider the meaning you give to the part and how it related to what is challenged or needs to change in your waking life.

For instance, a snake bite to the right hand means that you are conflicted about taking action or making the right choice in your life; it could suggest that you are preoccupied with acting in fairness or maintaining a healthy transparency in a relationship whether it is intimate or related to work.

Being bitten by a snake in the back could indicate that you need to pay attention to ill words or deceitful actions of people around you; it could also mean that you need to resolve issues from the past or concerns that you have been carrying with you for a long time.

Dream Meaning #3: You’re holding back your wild, untamed side

When you dream of a snake biting you, the animal may reflect conflictual urges or desires you have in waking life and that are hard to grasp or control. Dreaming of a snake brings to your attention, through the image of this animal, to a part of you that you or possibly others consider as “wild”, untamed, perhaps even “out of control”.

Snake Bite Dream

This inner conflict may have escaped your attention or you may have seen it looming over you, just like the animal in the dream before it strikes. The fact the snake is biting you indicates that you are in the process of becoming more conscious of what you need to do to take control of a situation or matter that has been creeping in

Dream Meaning #4: Transformation is painfully taking place in your life

The serpent is delivering the antidote to numbing yourself and avoiding what needs to be done to get to the next step in your life. The snake bite may point to a shift occurring in your awareness, a transformation: You are on the verge of becoming more aware about a matter that was previously hidden or avoided.

This radical shift may be experienced in a painful manner at first, but will be beneficial in the long run. This wake up call is part of your growth process.

Dream Meaning #5: Struggle with temptation

Dreaming of a snake biting you may represent the archetypal presence of temptation in your life. Just like the serpent in the Garden of Eden in the judeo-christian tradition, the animal in your dream could connect to a “temptation”, desire or situation you feel conflicted about because of it does not fit in your usual beliefs or ethical values.

The snake bite is a wake up call to face whatever is causing tension, perhaps even challenge some of your core beliefs or values and get a fresh perspective.

I had a dream that three snakes where in my shirt. One snake bit me and I pulled it out of my shirt. It was a small skinny snake. Then I felt another bite. I pulled another snake out of my shirt that looked identical to the first one. I felt something still in my shirt and oulled out yet another snake identical to the first two. This one did not bite me. The bites only stung me they did not hurt.

I’m male in my twenties and I dreamt of surprise visiting an old aunt that I haven’t seen since childhood years with my close female friend and my teenage sister. When we got there we were well received. In conversation she mentioned she has a snake farm in the basement (as a child I visited her and her son showed me a frozen rattle snake that he had caught and planned to get stuffed) and not to go down there because they are free roaming. After a while I wonder where did my sister go? My first instinct was to check the basement and as soon as I opened the door I could see at the bottom of the steps there were about a dozen snakes. They were blue with black stripes and no more than 4 feet long. I wasn’t sure if they were poisonous or not. Then I went into panic mode because they all started coming up the steps at rapid pace and before I could close the door one lunged and bit me on the left hand (I am left handed). I felt extreme pain. it’s jaws would not release me and I could feel it’s fangs under my skin. Meanwhile the door is still open enough for the rest of the snakes to pour out. I grabbed it with my right hand behind the head and forced it to release. Then I took my left hand and grabbed its bottom jaw and pulled backwards until it snapped and kept pulling until it tore the thing in half to midway down the snakes belly, and threw it on the floor dead. I heard everyone else screaming and ran I to the next room where I saw the snakes crawling over everything hissing and everyone was screaming making a chaotic scene, however they were not getting bitten. We all ran out the front door and I was the last one out but before I could make it to the door another snake lunged and bit my right forearm. It hurt equally bad and again I had to grab it and pry it off with my other hand. This time I rung its neck and used it as a whip to clear the last of the snakes from my path. Once I made it out I threw it’s dead body to the ground. And shortly after that my dream ended.

I had a dream where I was in Australia, and we were visiting some tourist site by the beach with some bushes ( I recently went to Australia for a small vacation, visiting a friend, and I also noticed there were signs warning to be aware of copperhead snakes which are poisonous) in the dream I was there by the beach and bushes, took note of a sign warning about snakes, and then a bunch of copperhead snakes came out of the bushes and were surrounding me. A lot of them bit me on the back of my ankle (I guess you would call it the Achilles heel) I think mostly my right but some also on my left. I wasn’t super scared, just startled at first, and then accepted it (like oh, that happened). Then somehow my dream jumpcut to me going to the nearby doctor after feeling woozy. The doctor analyzed my foot and I believe gave me an antidote. He was nice and goofy and I hoped I wasn’t being a bother for getting bitten. As i think it was just a sign of me recklessness. Pretty detailed I think 😛 but yeah. So any thoughts?

I dreamed of a rattlesnake I seen once before.. it was in our living room.. I seemed pleased to see it and I told my father there it is again! Look! The snake then slithered over to where my mom was sleeping on couch, looked at her and started to slide up her chest near her neck. I was worried that if she woke up she would get bit! Without fear or hesitation I jumped up, ran over to the couch and grabbed the snake by the neck. It stared at me, I stared at it, then it bit my right index finger.. it kept its fangs in my finger while we continued to stare each other down.. after a while it released me, and it seemed sorry.. even though it bit me, there was Know venom/poison in me.. The snake left, we called 911, and 911 said that I would be fine not to worry… I looked at the wound and it just had to little tiny teeth holes that looked like mosquito bites.. it almost felt like I stared my fears in the face and I won! What are your thoughts? Thank you so much gratitude..

I dreamed I found a snake in my window sill. It looked at me and I ran from it. I came after me and bit me in my right arm. It was a beautiful blue color. That is all I remember.

Sounds to me that when you spoke to him he often didn’t hear what you were saying and when he would acknowledge you you often times felt like you couldn’t rely on him even when you really needed him when it was something that was important to you.

I dreamed I was laying in bed sleep with my cat. I saw the tail of snake and tried to grab it. It bit my cat in the face. I tried to grab it again and it bit me several times on my right hand. I was able to wrap it in my blanket. I screamed repeatedly for my ex to come get it. My voice or the way I was screaming his name sounded strange and at times inaudible. He finally arrived to get. I told him to take the cat to the vet to be checked out but he refused.

I had a very similar dream about a snake biting my cat, me pulling the snake away and the snake ending up biting me on my hand and my thigh. My fiance was in the room with me in my dream. So very strange.
