What does dreaming of snakes in water mean?
Here are several meanings to help interpret your dream.
Dream Meaning #1: Be aware of your emotions before they sweep you up
A dream about a snake in water symbolizes the connection with your emotions. Typically, the snake comes as a warning sign or a wake up call about a situation that is potentially threatening and associated with strong feelings.
If the snake swims peaceful in calm waters, it means that you’re dealing with your emotions positively and with ease. If you dream about a snake that bites you while you’re swimming, it could be interpreted as a warning to pay attention to your emotions before they strike and go out of control.
Consider the type of water you or the snake swims in in your dream, your reactions towards the snake, and the behavior of the animal to interpret what emotional mood is influencing your life right now.
Dream Meaning #2: Snakes in water as symbols of emotional healing
If you are comfortable in the water and the snake’s behavior is friendly or neutral, it means that you are at peace with your emotions. The presence of the snake could indicate that you are healing emotional wounds or dealing with a situation that’s potentially challenging with ease. The dream may also reflects your desire or hope to clear some worries with regards to a close relationship or a situation that touches you deeply.
Even if you’re dreaming of swimming with snakes and are afraid of them in the dream, you may be facing difficult emotions in your life, but are going with the flow and trying to deal with them. If you are struggling in the water or with the snake, it indicates that you are resisting feelings or a change in your waking life.

I dreamed that my cousins and I jumped into a channel, and were swimming out to have an adventure of some sort (the nature of the adventure was unspecified). As we were swimming, I looked back and saw snakes swimming after us. This dream was in stark black and white, which was unusual. I usually dream in living color.

Hi Dear,
I am 30 years old and I saw in dream that I was on roof of my school and I saw water around the building and a very very very long and healthy snake in that water.
I was inside the building and saw the snake and a man’s head was inside the mouth of snake and then I saw that man came out of snake’s mouth. And then I feared from that snake and ran to the top of school building. Then I saw that snake in the water out side the building who had many turns around the building and snake. one more thing water is calm and snake is not trying to come near to me but that snake is smoothly swimming on top of water straightly.
Please tell me about the meaning of this dream
I had a dream I was going feet first in water and what seemed like I was speeding along the water with water snakes that were not noticing me or paying attention to me. Then I had one that looked right at me with yellow eyes and then I woke up in a panic
I had a dream, probably 6 years ago, that came back to mind today.
It was of a dark black snake swimming calmly in peaceful clear river-bed water. I was distinctly aware of danger, yet in control and curious, and remained safe. For many years I wondered what it meant, if it was positive or negative.
In retrospect it seems clear, I was in a risky relationship with many unknowns and hopes but knew there ultimately was danger to me there, and it took a long time, but I got out of that bad relationship. Finally this is the year of the water snake, I feel clear completely. (glad there is a forum to share this!)
So im questioning what I had a dream about the other night. I remember every detail very clearly as it was a vivid dream.
In the dream I saw a fish in a swimming pool (one that humans swim in). Out of no where there was a snake in the pool that ate the fish. at this point is was concerning that something odd was happening. After the snake ate the fish, the snake grew to huge proportions. The snake was huge. I then woke from the dream.
I dont remember being scared, it was more surprising seeing the snake eat the fish. I’m hoping this means good things for me. I know it has to deal with my emotional state right now, but im hoping it means good karma.
I saw a dream wherein there was a pond i look down and 4-5 snakes come to the surface and try to get to me like they are furious coz of my action and along with snakes there were fishes(cannot recollect whether they were dead or alive
I saw a snake (scary looking) mixture of Fish.
It bit my palm hard (bit as in my whole palm was under that snake’s mouth) and I looked damn scared.
Saw the dream few minutes ago and I can still feel my hearts racing. Have been seeing snakes in my dreams a lot since few days.
